Wilson joined the Sparrows midway through last season and has made 20 tackles in seven games. As of early 2022, he had 19 in six games with the Calgary Stampeders. The 29-year-old American had previously played his first two seasons in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Alberta team.

General Manager Danny Maciocia therefore continues his work until the free agent market opens on February 14th. Recently, Régis Cibasu, Wesley Sutton, Chandler Worthy and Tyrice Beverette signed new agreements.

However, some big names remain free for now, including quarterback Trevor Harris and wide receiver Eugene Lewis.
