Lestage, 24, has spent the past year on the Seattle Seahawks practice team. He also played three preparatory games with them in 2021, but without being able to fight for a place in the main formation.

The offensive lineman, drafted 10th overall by the Alouettes in 2021, will join his former head coach at Université de Montréal Carabins in Danny Maciocia.

“We are very satisfied with this addition, also started the pilot project in a press release. There is no doubt that Pier-Olivier will come to solidify our offensive line. We believed his selection was a calculated risk given his time in the NFL, but now we realize that decision could pay off for us.

The 6’3″, 312 lb athlete was a key player in capturing the Carabins Dunsmore Cup in 2019. He was also named to the Sports Network All-Star Team Québec Student (RSEQ) at the end of that season.

– The Alouettes also added American defensive tackle Mustafa Johnson to the practice roster, as well as national linebacker Eric Mezzalira.
