January 22, 2018 in Culver City: A Tesla Model S crashed into the back of a fire truck that was parked in the crash on Interstate 405 at approximately 8:30 a.m. in Culver City using the car’s autopilot system. The Tesla, which was driving 65 mph, suffered “significant damage” and the fire engine was taken out of service for body work.

May 30, 2018 in Laguna Beach: Authorities said a Tesla sedan on Autopilot collided with a parked police cruiser in Laguna Beach. Laguna Beach Police Sgt. Jim Cota says the officer was not in the cruiser during the crash. He said the Tesla driver suffered minor injuries.

The police SUV landed on a sidewalk with both of its wheels on the passenger side.

December 7, 2019 in Norwalk, Connecticut: A 2018 Tesla Model 3 drives behind a parked police car on Interstate 95 in Norwalk, Connecticut with the driver assistance system Autopilot.

December 29, 2019 Cloverdale, IN: A 2019 Tesla crashed into the back of a parked fire truck on Interstate 70 in Cloverdale, Indiana.

Tesla driver Derrick Monet and his wife Jenna Monet both suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital for immediate medical attention. Jenna eventually succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

June 30, 2020 West Bridgewater, MA: A Weston, Massachusetts man driving a Tesla struck a Massachusetts State Police squad car that was pulled over in the left lane of Route 24 in West Bridgewater. A police officer who was at the scene reported that the driver, Nicholas Ciarlone, was charged with negligent negligence and was charged in September 2020.

July 15, 2020 in Conchise County, AZ: A Tesla Model S struck an Arizona Department of Public Safety squad car, causing the squad car to back up an ambulance that was at the scene of a previous car accident. No one was seriously injured, but the Tesla driver was taken to the hospital for injuries.

August 26, 2020, Charlotte, NC: A Tesla driver watching a movie crashed into a Nash County Sherriff’s Office deputy vehicle on US 64 West in Charlotte, North Carolina.

The driver, Devainder Goli of Raleigh, was charged with breaking the Moving Act and watching television while operating a vehicle.

February 27, 2021, Montgomery County, TX: The driver of a Tesla cleared a police cruise during a traffic stop in Montgomery County, Texas. Five assistant police officers were injured in the accident, which occurred at about 1:15 a.m. on the Eastex Freeway near East River Road.

The Tesla driver was not injured but was taken into custody on a DWI charge.

March 17, 2021 Lansing, MI: A Tesla with Autopilot crashed into a Michigan State Police car. Lansing Post soldiers were investigating an accident involving a car and a deer on I-96 near Waverly Rd in Eaton County around 1:12 a.m.

While investigating the accident, a Tesla driving on autopilot collided with the patrol car, whose emergency lights were on.

Neither the driver of the Tesla – a 22-year-old man from Lansing – nor the police officers were injured at the scene. Police issued the unidentified man with a subpoena for not moving and driving with a suspended license.

May 15, 2021 Arlington, WA: A Tesla driving in Arlington, Washington struck a police vehicle resulting in “significant damage” to the police car.

No injuries were reported in the incident.

May 19, 2021 in Miami, Florida: Three people were hospitalized after a Tesla struck a parked Miami-Dade County Department Transportation Road Ranger Ranger truck that was blocking the left lane of I-95 to avoid the debris of a fix previous accident.

The driver of the Tesla was transported to a nearby hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

July 10, 2021 in San Diego: A woman drove her Tesla onto a section of Highway 56 that had been closed to investigate a previous fatal accident. Her Tesla crashed into a parked, unoccupied interchange.

The woman was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, her passenger was injured.

August 28, 2021 in Orlando: A Tesla Model 3 struck a Florida Highway Patrol cruiser that was stopping to help a stalled car. The 27-year-old driver and his passenger suffered minor injuries. The soldier was not injured.
