On her Twitter account, Selanne greeted the 17-year-old with her usual humor. Footage shows him placing a piece of paper on top of a locker with the name of Regina Pats’ paint holder written on it.

“I think Connor Bedard would fit perfectly in the Ducks’ locker room. Welcome to Southern California!” Selanne wrote, accompanying her roughly twenty-second excerpt.

Bedard is the first pick in the next National Hockey League draft. He has 81 points, including 39 goals, in 33 games with the Pats this season. He also helped Canada win gold at the recent World Junior Championships.

The Ducks are in the middle of the race for last place overall in the Bettman League with a meager 33 points in 48 games.
