Taylor Swift Eras Tour: Concert coming to MetLife in East Rutherford over Memorial Day weekend – WABC-TV

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (WABC) – Are you ready for this? Taylor Swift fans know only too well that her highly-anticipated Eras Tour is coming to the Tri-State region this weekend and will have its first concert tonight.

Before the concerts began, all fans had the opportunity to purchase official tour merchandise at the MetLife Stadium Flagship Store on Thursday.

The shows will be held at MetLife Stadium on May 26, 27, and 28, but they have a message for fans to avoid bad blood: Tickets are required to enter the parking lot.

The news comes two weeks after about 20,000 fans who didn’t have tickets gathered in the parking lot of Philadelphia’s Lincoln Financial Stadium to sing along to their songs.

“For the safety and enjoyment of all who have tickets to these shows, we strongly advise those without tickets not to come to MetLife Stadium on show days,” the statement said.

Officials warned that concert tickets are required to access the parking lots, which will be at full capacity on the evenings of the shows.

And the New Jersey State Police also advised against not “Taylor-gating” those who don’t have tickets.
Shows start at 6:30pm each night, however car parks open at 12:30pm and gates open at 4:30pm

Gov. Phil Murphy warned the Swifties to head to the show earlier.

“We literally have three Super Bowls this weekend. What I would say to people is get there early, enjoy yourself, but do it responsibly,” he said.

Be warned: fans without an event ticket will be turned away and no tickets will be sold at the stadium.

According to StubHub, the cheapest ticket available for Friday’s Taylor Swift concert is $1,454 and the most expensive ticket is $9,084. However, if you’re going with a friend and want to sit next to them, be sure to take a deep breath because Section 6, Row 11 has tickets for $143,753 each.

A clear baggage policy applies. Banners and signs smaller than 11″ x 17″ are allowed.

A list of prohibited items can be found on MetLife’s website.

To the lucky fans who snagged tickets to the show, be sure to shrug it off and we hope it lives up to your wildest dreams.

And if you can’t make it to one of the shows, you can still join the celebrations and enjoy the new official state sandwich: a Taylor Swift ham, egg and cheese. Governor Phil Murphy declared the breakfast sandwich the official state sandwich in honor of the tour.
