Syria opens important projects in the province of Deir Ezzor

Prime Minister Hussein Arnous launched the seventh sector irrigation project benefiting 7,500 hectares of agricultural land in Albukmal Municipality.

At a cost of nearly $5 million, this facility will help expand wheat acreage and support the national economy by increasing agricultural production.

The head of government also inaugurated the main water pumping station in the municipality of Almayadín, which guarantees this vital fluid for 135,000 people, with the possibility of increasing its capacity to serve half a million residents.

It has also reopened, reconstructed and equipped the telecom centers in the towns of Buqrus and Al-Boleel and inaugurated several parts of the industrial zone east of Deir Ezzor.

The first student halls of residence and an extension of the Faculty of Biology were opened at the Euphrates University.

On September 5, 2017, Deir Ezzor was declared terrorism-free and since then various reconstruction and rehabilitation projects have started, resulting in the return of one million displaced people to their homes.
