After Denmark in July, Sweden was the victim of a shooting at a shopping mall. One of two people injured in a shooting at a shopping center in Malmo, southern Sweden, died, police said on Friday evening. A man and a woman were injured in the attack. “The man succumbed to his injuries,” police said on their website, adding that the woman was still “being treated at the hospital.” The regional health authorities announced in the early evening that the latter was in serious condition.
Police also said they arrested a teenager suspected of being the perpetrator of the shooting. She said she viewed the attack as “an isolated incident related to criminal circles” and ruled out terrorist motivation.
Three dead in Denmark in a shooting in July
According to testimonies collected by local media, one person indiscriminately opened fire on people staying in the mall, information police have not confirmed.
Also in July, the city of Copenhagen, Denmark, some 30 kilometers from Malmo, was the scene of a shooting at a shopping center that killed three people.
