SWAT actor Shemar Moore (52) and his girlfriend Jesiree Dizon (39) have had a baby daughter

Shemar Moore confirmed Tuesday that he and girlfriend Jesiree Dizon have had a baby girl.

The 52-year-old actor – best known for shows like SWAT, Criminal Minds and The Young and the Restless – said on Instagram: “Your boy is officially a dad!!! Dreams come true!! The rest of my life is here!’

A representative for the veteran actor, who battled coronavirus in 2020, confirmed news of the baby’s birth to People early Tuesday.

“Shemar Moore and his partner Jesiree Dizon are delighted to announce the birth of their baby girl,” the rep said. “The family is very happy and healthy.”

Moore and his wife received words of support from fellow actors such as David Lim, Nut Devahastin and SWAT’s Bill Bellamy.

Moore revealed earlier this month on The Jennifer Hudson Show that he’s “about to be a dad” and that he had worried “that the ship had sailed” because he was a parent. He said the due date was around the third anniversary of his mother’s death on February 8, 2020.

He said, “On February 8th, I’m going to make one of her dreams come true, because in real life, Shemar Moore is going to be a dad,” which caused the audience to cheer.

Though he feels his life is already “pretty awesome,” Moore predicted fatherhood will be “the best” experience.

In 2016, the SWAT star announced that he had retired from Criminal Minds and his beloved character Derek Morgan to focus on his family.

“I need balance in my life. I love what I do for a living, I love everything from action to editing, but I also want to walk my dogs, travel, get married, have children. I want a balance, and it’s hard to do with the schedule we have,” he told TV Line at the time.

The hunk has done his best to get through three challenging years that included the devastating loss of his mother and battling COVID-19.

Announcing her death to the world, he told fans in an Instagram video that he was “heartbroken.”

“I don’t know life without this woman. I don’t know what to do but I’ll find out because that’s what she would want,” he said. “Everything I have achieved I owe to this amazing woman. My mother is gone, she is no longer here. But she is here,” he wrote.

Additionally, the performer called his mother his “best friend and partner in crime and that he committed crimes” and said he misses her “more than” he “ever thought possible.”
