O super bowl, which took place last Sunday evening the 12th, was the stage for dozens of advertising campaigns. Fox, the TV network that aired the event in the United States, even charged $7 million for a 30second ad slot. On game night, the station showed 53 commercials.

Companies use creativity to grab the public’s attention and stand out in the world’s most expensive assortment scenario. That’s why Ad Age compiled a list of the most creative NFL commercials, according to the publication’s journalists’ rating. See:

5. Dunkin’

“‘DriveThru’ with Ben Affleck” Anomaly

Memes featuring Dunkin’s superfan Ben Affleck put the actor front and center in the brand’s first Super Bowl ad. In the scene, Affleck manages the drivethru at a dunkin’ in Medford, Massachusetts. Aside from the footage showing customers being surprised by the wait staff, the point of humor was J.Lo’s arrival, angry, at the end.

4. General Motors / Netflix

“Why not an electric vehicle?” The Community/Netflix/McCann

Will Ferrell was the celebrity chosen to sponsor an enterprise deal that will integrate GM electric vehicles into Netflix programming. The campaign turns corporate news into entertainment by appearing on shows like Army of the Dead, Bridgerton, Love Is Blind, Queer Eye and Stranger Things.

3. Doritos

“Try a different angle” Goodbye Silverstein & Partners

With famous celebrities and humorous attributes related to the product, the brand combines the triangular shape with creativity, which fascinated rapper Jack Harlow from an unusual musical instrument.

2nd NFL

“Run with it” 72andSunny

Diana Flores, halfback for the Mexico women’s national soccer team, runs and dodges in 90 seconds in the NFL’s tribute to “Women Who Push the Sport.” The commercial talks about inclusivity for a sport that needs to evolve and attract a more diverse fan base.

1.Amazon

“Saving Swayer” In the house

With this story about a pet who goes rogue after lockdown ends, Amazon proves that all it takes to win the Super Bowl is an idea. The play featured a story that many viewers can relate to, and one that has a big twist: they’re not just buying a crate for their neglected dog, they’re buying a companion for the dog. Mixing fun and emotion, the commercial took the viewer on an emotional journey reminiscent of the best John Lewis commercials.
