It’s Travis, after all, who will have had the lucky hand in that first-ever Super Bowl against brothers on the floor. With the 38:35 victory of the Chiefs over the Eagles, the tight end experienced a second crowning glory.

Meanwhile, with the Eagles, Jason sees the championship tally stay at one. Under the confetti, the two apparently shared a warm hug after the match.

The two brothers also hugged their mother individually for a long time.

“You can’t say anything to a loved one in a situation like that,” Travis Kelce said afterwards.

“We joke every day that we dream of beating our brother on the biggest stage, but in the end the feeling is quite strange. We have all the respect in the world for the Eagles. This team is showing great leadership and everything was decided at the very end.

“There’s nothing else I can say about Jason other than I love him and he’s had a full season,” he continued.

A family in the spotlight

Ahead of the encounter, the two players’ mother, Donna Kelce, who rose to fame this week, was introduced to the crowd at State Farm Stadium. The story of the Kelce family, involving two dominant actors in their respective positions, captivated the audience.

“For me, this is the happiest day of my life, on and off the pitch. I saw my family in all their glory receiving all these flowers with my mother taking center stage before the big game.

“I was able to get closer to my brother all season until I ended up at the top of the mountain with him. It’s the best feeling in the world. I don’t know how many years I have left, but I will always cherish this moment,” said the tight end, who caught six passes for 81 yards and a touchdown.

Retirement for Jason?

Center Jason Kelce, 35, declined to comment on his future when asked if he expected to see him again next season.

“I’m not saying that now. We’ll see,” he replied.

Despite the obvious tension that inhabited him, he mentioned that he couldn’t have asked for a better scenario for his brother.

“I’m happy for him. Right now I don’t recognize the feelings I’m feeling. I’m sure we will have a more emotional conversion soon. He played so well and this team deserves everything that happens to him.

“Of course our next podcast is going to be weird … but you can’t always win,” the Veterans Center concluded on its weekly New Heights podcast.

No more doubts

In Travis’ eyes, this second triumph for the Chiefs in four years legitimizes the validity of their exploits.

“The biggest difference from last time is that this win cements our excellence. The first time, some might have associated our victory with beginner’s luck. You can’t be lucky twice. We’ve won two of the last four Super Bowls,” he said.
