Sadie Sink has revealed the details of their first kiss.

The ‘Stranger Things’ star recalled the ‘awkward’ kiss she shared with her co-star Caleb McLaughlin on the set of the hit Netflix series.

The kiss happened in the show’s second season when Sadie and Caleb, who play Max and Lucas, were 15 and 16, respectively.

“We were both awkward,” Sadie, now 20, told W Magazine of the scene. “But it was also fun because all our friends were there and all these extras and lights and music.”

“It was nerve-wracking at the time, but now I look back and I can laugh about it.”

The creators of Stranger Things previously came under fire for “forcing” the teen actress to film the kissing scene.

Twitter reacted heavily after Sadie revealed during an additional behind-the-scenes episode in 2017 that she was tricked into making the kiss by Ross and Matt Duffer, despite being “stressed” about it for more than a day.

“The kiss wasn’t scripted,” Sadie revealed in the post-show clip.

“I get there, day one of Snow Ball … One of you, I think it was you, Ross, you’re like, ‘Oh, Sadie, are you ready for the kiss?’ I’m like, ‘What! No! It’s not in the script’.

“That’s not happening,” she said. “So I was stressed out all day, I was like, ‘Oh my God, wait, do I have to…’

The Kiss was shot on the second day of filming of the Snow Ball scenes and was filmed in front of a few hundred extras, crew members and parents. Sadie’s mother was also on set during the shooting.

Let's recall,

Let’s recall, “We were both awkward,” Sadie, now 20, told W Magazine of the scene. “But it was also fun because all our friends were there and all these extras and lights and music.”

Ross Duffer blamed Sink’s response for insisting on the kiss telling her in Beyond Stranger Things, “You reacted so strongly to that. I was just kidding and you were so freaked out I was like, well, I’ve got to make her do it now.’

Sadie responded by asking him, “So it’s my fault?”

The writer-director replied, “That’s why I say it’s your fault.”

Additionally, Variety reported that in an interview with the Duffer brothers ahead of the season 2 premiere, Matt Duffer revealed that that kiss, too, wasn’t in the script and was dropped on the kids at the last minute.

Then:

Then: “It was nerve-racking at the time, but now I look back and I can laugh about it,” says Sadie (pictured with Caleb in 2018)

“You might think it’s the end of the world, but I think it’s a big deal … none of those kisses were scripted, so we dropped that on the day of them and caused a big panic.” But they did it,’ he said.

He then told the trade journal: “You have to torment them a bit. You know you need to entertain yourself somehow. And we have all these kids who are just having fun. I know exactly how to push their buttons at this point.’

Sadie later clarified in an interview with TheWrap that she “never objected” to the kiss and was “comfortable” on set.

‘I mean, of course I was nervous because it’s the first kiss, right?’ said sink. “But I never objected to it [it] or felt pushed into something.’

“I’ve always felt comfortable and the Duffer Brothers do the best job,” she added. “And always create a comfortable space. And if I felt uncomfortable about anything, I wouldn’t have done it.”
