A pedophile guilty of producing and distributing child pornography with his 2-year-old daughter faces six years in prison, a judge ruled, reminding that this type of crime deserves no mercy.
“The defendant’s highly perverse behavior towards his daughter requires a judgment that reflects our society’s absolute intolerance towards this type of degrading act,” Judge Annie Vanasse commented in a recent judgment in Trois-Rivières.
The 41-year-old defendant, who cannot be named to protect his child’s identity, began his crimes around 2019 when his little girl was still in diapers. The pedophile unscrupulously sexually abused her while photographing or filming the scenes.
And even worse, he didn’t hesitate to send the whole thing to other pedophiles on the internet.
“He shared not only to allow other strangers to satisfy their own deviant impulses, but also to share in their turn,” the judge noted.
Caught by the FBI
However, the pedophile was caught by an American FBI agent who managed to infiltrate a chat group by posing as a woman who was abusing her daughter.
“The FBI agent forwarded the information to the Canadian authorities and the investigation was taken over by the National Center Against Child Exploitation under the direction of the Sûreté du Québec,” the decision reads.
The accused was quickly arrested. And in his electronic devices, investigators found a thousand photos of child pornography, including several showing babies being raped.
Shaped childhood
Dozens of images showed close-ups of her daughter’s genitals when she was 2 and 3 years old.
“No one can claim that this child is unaware of, or will not remember, this abuse,” the judge said. The consequences for the mother of the child […] must also be taken into account.
For the defense, the pedophile earned 3 years in prison. The crown itself claimed 7 years in the shade. The judge finally settled on 6 years imprisonment after considering that the defendant had pleaded guilty, had no criminal record and had been cooperating with the police.
Once released from prison, the pedophile does not have to go near many places where children can be seen for a period of 5 years.
