Since the launch of ChatGPT, which according to many observers represents a major technological breakthrough, everyone has expressed their opinion on OpenAI’s artificial intelligence. Steve Wozniak, guest of CNBC’s Squark Box, had a question to answer.
He was rather skeptical about this innovation. While he thinks ChatGPT is impressive, there’s a catch. “The problem is that he does good things for us but can make terrible mistakes because he doesn’t know what humanity is,” said the Apple co-founder.
ChatGPT is a terrible liar
According to him, AI is of great interest because it can swallow tons of information and analyze it much more efficiently than a human brain. But he will always lack that ability to understand what a person is really feeling.
Steve Wozniak is not the first to criticize the release of this language model. In fact, and as impressive as this tool is, it still makes serious mistakes. Worse, his firm tone and way of presenting things also make him a formidable liar. It is therefore always important to step back and double check the information provided by ChatGPT.
Anyway, this AI is shaking up the tech world. Microsoft and Google want to implement a service comparable to ChatGPT on their search engines, while Chinese competitors Baidu, Alibaba and NetEase are also positioning themselves. Apple does not want to be left behind in this AI race, the Cupertino-based company is also working on many projects related to artificial intelligence.
