Yes, Palpatine is Anakin Skywalker’s father
Anakin Skywalker’s paternity has been debated by fans of the saga for years. With that, several theories have emerged over the years, we know that all this time Anakin’s mother has always claimed that he has no father, which is exactly why several theories have emerged on the subject.
Some theories cited Darth Plagueis and even future Emperor Palpatine as being responsible for the Force’s shaping of Skywalker. But the truth is that after such a long time, a comic of the saga released in 2019 basically revealed this palpatine is in fact the father of Anakin Skywalker.
In the published edition, Darth Vader beholds Palpatine, who fathered him through the Force while having a vision of the dark side of the Force. However, it was later clarified that all of this was not reality, but a vision of the past filtered through the villain’s own mind, including the dark side of the Force.
That didn’t stop many observant fans, however, from viewing this moment as true “proof” that Palpatine was in fact the answer to a decadesold question: Anakin’s father.
The truth is that this vision of Darth Vader is basically like a sign of ambiguity, so there are fans who just don’t know how to understand and interpret this type of situation, especially in a landscape where stories are often written be to explain everything in Star Wars 100%, no room for ambiguity in plot or emotions.
