Five Star Quarterback Jaden Rashada filed documents with the NCAA on Tuesday asking for the release of his National Letter of Intent from the University of Florida, a source told 247Sports. Rashada signed with Florida on December 21, the first day of the early signing period.

The filing largely marks an end to the Rashada Florida saga that has been brewing for over a week since the Pittsburgh, California product did not register early in Florida as previously planned. If Rashada receives his release, he is free to sign or enroll in another school as a member of the 2023 Recruitment Class. It could take up to 30 days for Florida to respond to Rashada’s request.

“We are in ongoing discussions with Florida regarding his enrollment, but I would like to think that if he is not enrolled by Friday, there will be some challenges to proceed as planned,” Harlen Rashada, Jaden’s father, said on April 247 January versus 247Sports 11.

Rashada is a five-star quarterback according to 247Sports and ranks as the No. 6 quarterback nationally and a potential No. 6 in the state of California. He checks in as the No. 29 overall in the 2023 class.

He was selected for the Elite 11 Finals, the Under Armor All-America Game, and the Polynesian Bowl.

After signing to Miami, Rashada reversed his commitment to the Gators in November and signed with Billy Napier in December. Potential targets for Rashada if/if a release is granted include multiple Pac-12 schools, according to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong.
