Soul at the wheel with a mountain of cans as a passenger

An Ontarian man was caught drunk driving with a mountain of beer cans in his car during a roadblock in Georgian Bluffs, about 200 km northwest of Toronto on Friday.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) said Monday that Mark Sewell, a 61-year-old man, showed obvious signs of poisoning when he was arrested at a roadblock at 5:23 p.m.

The condition of the car left the police in no doubt. A photo shared by the OPP shows dozens of beer cans piled up in the cabin. These fill all the space that would normally be devoted to a passenger’s legs and accumulate until they reach the door window.

The man was taken to the police station, with the man failing his breathalyzer test, which revealed he was driving with more than 80mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood. He faces multiple charges of obstruction of driving, including one charge of driving with alcohol in hand.

As a bonus, the man also faces charges of theft under $5,000, driving with a false license plate, driving under restrictions and driving without insurance.
