SNL star Chris Redd says his face was blooded after

SNL star Chris Redd says his face was ‘blooded’ after brass knuckles attack in New York.

Former SNL comedian Chris Redd said his face was covered in blood after being accidentally attacked with brass knuckles while entering NYC’s historic comedy basement.

The attack on him last week left the comedian with two fractures in his nose and one in his cheek, he said on The Daily Beast’s Last Laugh podcast.

Redd, 37, was walking to the venue “like any New Yorker” when a stranger punched him.

He said his first reaction after the attack was to get to his scheduled set. The comedian said he started walking down the venue’s stairs while still having blood spurting from his nose, but quickly realized he needed medical attention.

“If we could have stopped the bleeding, I would have gone on stage,” he said on the podcast. ‘

“I can’t bleed them out — that’s kind of weird, that’s not the show they paid for,” Redd said.

He also explained that he was hit with what he believes to be “brass knuckles” because of the sheer amount of blood that poured from his face and the way it stuck his “nose to his.” bone” cut.

However, Redd was unable to provide an explanation as to why he was slapped out of the blue. It remains unclear why the man – who has yet to be identified – attacked Redd unprovoked before running away.

He was immediately knocked out and unable to chase after his attacker.

The NYPD also did not respond to requests for comment as to whether there are any suspects in the case or if they have any idea what motivated the attack.

Redd started the podcast by joking that the punch – which was recorded on CCTV – was like a “surprise party of a fist”.

He described texting his cousin, who was nearby, in advance of the attack and that he was just being punched as he put the phone back in his pocket.

As I put my phone in my pocket and headed further into the basement like I always do, this man hit me in the face with something metallic,” Redd said.

He also explained why he believed he had been hit with brass knuckles, or at least some metal object.

“I’ve been boxing for years, I’ve been hit in the face before, so it wasn’t scary,” Redd said, adding, “What was scary was how much blood came out of my face.”

“I thought they were brass knuckles because it cut my nose to the bone,” he said.

The comedian described the wounds he suffered after the blow that resulted in him ending up in Bellevue Hospital.

“I sustained two fractures in my nose and one in my cheek. A fist doesn’t usually do it all at once,’ he said again, alluding to his attacker’s use of brass knuckles.

“The guy just hit me and ran away,” Redd said.

He also told listeners that during the attack he didn’t realize he had fallen to the ground. However, when he looked at surveillance footage of the hit, he saw himself fall over with the impact.

He was also quick to explain why he didn’t chase after his attacker, implying that there was “so much blood I couldn’t chase him down the street.”

Redd also seemed excited that no one else was chasing after the man.

Dramatic surveillance footage shows the moment Redd was crushed in New York by the goon who spattered blood across the sidewalk.

Redd strolls down the busy street as he heads out to perform at the Comedy Cellar in Greenwich Village, a place where he often does set design.

Grainy footage shows him suddenly collapsing to the ground after being punched in the face at 9.40pm on Wednesday.

Spectators immediately jump from their seats to help the comedian, whose nose was ruptured by the blow.

Employees at a nearby restaurant had to scrub the sidewalk with hot water to remove the blood after the attack.

The attack on Redd by a mysterious assailant appears to have been completely unprovoked at the time.

The alleged attack came just weeks after it was revealed that Redd is dating co-star Kenan Thompson's ex-wife, Christina Evangeline

The alleged attack came just weeks after it was revealed that Redd is dating co-star Kenan Thompson’s ex-wife, Christina Evangeline.

The two starred together on SNL, but Redd left in 2022 after the show’s 47th season.

There is said to be no bad blood between the two comedians. Although Kenan filed for divorce this June, he and Christina have reportedly been separated since 2019, while Christina and Chris reportedly started dating last year.

Redd joined the cast in 2017 as the main cast member for season 43 and was promoted to repertory player in season 45 in 2019.

His departure that year made him the eighth cast member to depart between the end of Season 47 in May and Season 48, which debuted October 1.
