Sleeping bag water bottle overalls its night at the museum

Sleeping bag, water bottle, overalls: it’s night at the museum in the Pinacoteca

Sleeping bag, water bottle, overalls and camera. No, nobody goes for a walk in the mountains. The group is made up of children accompanied by their parents who have chosen to take part in the “Night at the Museum” in Tosio Martinengo Art Gallery. The initiative, which included a treasure hunt and a series of workshops, allowed young participants to have fun in the museum’s rooms and sleep a night at the foot of the large paintings housed within.

“We have courageous teachers – says Andrea, who is taking part in the evening with his whole class –. We like to sleep here in our sleeping bags. We’re very excited too.”

Enthusiasm prevails, but when he appears on the main staircase of the museum, there is absolute silence Pauline Tosi. In fact, the landlady lost one of her paintings and now wants a painter to repaint it. The painting is that of the artist Antonio Cicognara of “San Giorgio and the Princess”: “You must help me to persuade the painter to paint – Paolina Tosio says to the children -. You have to find what he asks of you.” The painter asks for a number of things, including gold and the country of Siena, in order to be able to paint the picture and not upset Pauline’s husband Paolo.

And so the evening continues between riddles, riddles and a treasure hunt to find all the ingredients that the painter needs.

When the task is complete and all items are found, everyone slips into their sleeping bags. Night falls, the rooms are quiet. But some keep working. It is the painter who surprises the happy group in the morning: the painting is finished, the landlady is satisfied and all credit goes to the little guests.
