Singer Netinho regrets canceled show for supporting coup attacks: “I’ve already spent more than half the fee”

Singer Netinho, who rose to fame in the ’90s with the hit song “Milla,” spoke about the Iate Club de Aracaju canceling a carnival show it was going to hold on the 28th. The decision came after the artist published a series of posts supporting the attack coups that took place in Brasilia, on Sunday January 8th. However, such posts have already been deleted from the singer’s social network.

Speaking to a radio program in Aracaju, Netinho considered suing the club over the stance, saying he received 60 percent of the fee and has already spent more than half of the money.

Singer Netinho Deletes Posts In Favor Of Bolsonaro And Cops After Losing Show Contract

“In addition to the damage they caused me, my name and brand have been damaged. I even announced the show on my social network. When they canceled they hurt me. I told them yesterday: you are forcing me to sue you (…) I will not let anyone say that I finance terrorism. If that person believes, he has to prove it. This is a crime. Where is the payment for me to fund terrorism?” the singer said, informing that there will be no trial and that the Yacht Club is responsible for the procedures surrounding the show’s cancellation.

Netinho has spoken indirectly of his support for the Bolsonaro government, for which he has made several heated statements, and claims he would never make a political speech at a concert.

“I supported the Brazilian people as a person through my ideology for four years, never in any of my shows have I spoken about politics or any other topic that wasn’t music, love, joy and ‘take’ you can’t say that the yacht took me because you’re afraid I’m going to give a political speech on a carnival block. I never did. My story wasn’t made with the Rouanet law,” he revealed.

Netinho, a big supporter of the Bolsonaro government, decided to delete all posts he published in defense of the former president, including the various publications he published in defense of coup attacks.

The decision came after the singer lost his show contract in Aracaju. The city’s yacht club canceled the singer’s performance at his carnival party, stating that “he does not condone or support antidemocratic acts and will never allow any action of this nature within our institution.”

In a post published on Instagram, the Axé singer suggested that hunters, gunners and gun collectors (CACs) join the coup acts that destroyed the Three Powers headquarters last day 8.

Instead of Netinho, the Iate Clube de Aracaju will hold a concert by singer Tatau, former lead singer of the band Araketu. The publication that caused the Yacht Club to terminate the contract has already been deleted from the artist’s account. “We have between 800,000 and 900,000 CACs here in Brazil. Stand up and help us patriots,” the post reads.

“I received the public notice of the cancellation of my participation through the social network, but without any formal documentation (…) This cancellation brings me image and financial losses, since it was the announced show with which I would return to the stages and electric trios,” Netinho shared on Instagram this Sunday.

Now on Netinho’s Instagram there are only publications about his career. No political demonstrations like the countless ones he staged daily during the last elections. On the social network, Netinho published aggressive and very heated posts against the current president, Lula.

The day after the coup acts, Netinho issued a publication responding to allegations that his post had encouraged violence. “I have 56 years of clean public life (…) As a worker, always in music, I have never applied the Rouanet Law or accepted favors from politicians,” he wrote. He was even a candidate for federal MP for the Liberal Party last year, the same abbreviation that former President Jair Bolsonaro ran for in the election.
