Jackson questioned Harrigan’s apartment and was forced to place a campaign ad where he was standing outside his home.

Last month, Harrigan claimed the race had gotten so heated that he wore a bulletproof vest to campaign rallies and received death threats.

“While I travel, wherever my family is, they are significantly less safe racing with me,” Harrigan wrote in the letter received by the Charlotte Observer. “And now that you’ve shown the world one of my houses, they’re even more unsure.”

Harrigan tweeted about the incident, saying: “Jeff Jackson’s policies led to rising inflation, economic ruin and rampant crime – including political violence. My mission is a better economy, less inflation and safer roads. A bullet and death threats aren’t enough to dissuade this Green Beret from this mission.

It is the latest attack on a politician or his family in the run-up to the Midterms.

Nancy Pelosi’s husband Paul was beaten with a hammer at his San Francisco home last Friday, New Hampshire Senate nominee Don Bolduc said a suspect tried to hit him before a debate Wednesday night and a man tried to stab New York gubernatorial candidate Lee Zeldin onstage.

Biden condemned political violence in a divisive speech from Union Station in Washington DC on Wednesday night.
