A boarding house in Saint-Jérôme was hit by gunfire in the Laurentians Monday night.
The incident, which luckily no one was injured, happened on Duvernay Street at around 8.30pm.
Citizens called 911 to report what sounded like fireworks.
But when police arrived at the scene, they noticed bullets from firearms hitting the apartment building.
All residents were evacuated as a precaution.
No suspect had been pinned following that incident of armed violence.
Saint-Jérôme Police requested the assistance of Sûreté du Québec forensic identification technicians to analyze the crime scene and gather possible evidence.
“If citizens have seen something, we want them to contact us. You can do this confidentially at 450 432-3000 ext. 2534.
Even a small piece of information that may seem trivial to you can be important to us,” said agent Robin Pouliot, spokesman for the Saint-Jérôme police.
