Shocking moment NYC driver hits three people – including a mother pushing her baby in a stroller

Horrific moment car hits mother and child in a stroller in New York City – as the driver tried to flee from police

  • Police in the New York borough of Queens on Wednesday stopped a driver for questioning and he sped away – crashing into three people
  • He drove his SUV into a mother and daughter and hit a man standing on the road, who fell to the ground
  • The driver then sped away while police rushed nearby to help the three people hit by the car

Police in New York City are searching for a man caught on video speeding away from a traffic stop in Queens after hitting a mother pushing her daughter in a stroller and running over a 35-year-old man.

The incident began in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens when police pulled over the black SUV.

Police said the driver was pulled over for driving with a suspended license and ordered him out of the vehicle.

Two officers stand near the driver’s side, and surveillance footage shows the driver revving his engine.

One of the officers waves to his colleagues in a waiting squad car, asking them to push the car forward and block the driver before he can flee – but the driver sprints away before they can react.

He immediately hits a 28-year-old woman pushing her two-year-old daughter in a stroller, then dumps a 35-year-old man before driving off.

Police rush to the victims and the driver sprints away – his car was found abandoned in the Bushwick neighborhood of Brooklyn, but the driver has not yet been arrested.

“He actually pushed the kid out of the way — he’s a hero, the guy who got hit,” said witness Carlos Lopez, who filmed the incident.

“He was very worried about the child.”

All three people were taken to the hospital: the man with leg injuries, the woman and the child with only minor abrasions.

The mother injured her knee and the child injured her wrist.
