This is the shocking moment a brave woman forced a car to stop after the driver dragged a terrified donkey across a road in Ireland.
Disturbing footage shows the white donkey, with a rope tied tightly around its mouth and tied to the back of the car, being pulled down the road by the driver in Edenberry, County Offaly.
The animal was eventually rescued after a heroine, an animal rights activist who witnessed the shocking incident, yelled at the driver to stop the car.
Video, filmed by the witness walking behind the car, shows the donkey being dragged helplessly across the grass verge next to a main road.

At one point, the donkey slips on the icy grass and struggles to stay upright as the woman, a volunteer for the charity My Lovely Horse Rescue, yells at the driver, “Damn it, what’s wrong with you?”
The donkey, unable to escape as the rope is tied tightly around its mouth and ears and secured to the car’s bumper, hobbles along as it struggles to keep up with the vehicle.
The heroine is heard yelling “stop” as the donkey loses its footing again and its hind legs skid across the icy sidewalk while being dragged along by the driver.
The frightened donkey can be heard whinnying as it struggles to keep up with the car.
With its head stretched out and its legs buckled under the force of the car, the animal tries helplessly to escape from the noose of the rope by ramming its hooves into the ground, but cannot find enough footing.
At this point, the woman can be heard yelling at the driver, “Fuck it, just stop!”
Finally, after almost a minute of shooting, the car finally comes to a stop and the heroine can be heard breathing heavily while checking the donkey’s condition.

A Garda spokesman told Web: “At Garda Síochána it is known that footage in circulation concerns an animal in Edenderry, Co. Offaly.
“Although we do not comment on the content, An Garda Síochána is currently investigating an incident under the Animal Health and Welfare Code. The animal was examined by Gardaí and is rescued with their help.
“An Garda Síochána takes all matters of animal welfare and related crime very seriously. We ask that any incident be reported to a local Garda station where a complaint will be logged and fully investigated.’
