Shelley Duvall returns to acting after 20 YEARS in first trailer for The Forest Hills

Just days after it was announced that reclusive actress Shelley Duvall has returned to acting for the first time in 20 years, the first trailer for her new movie The Forest Hills has been released.

The 72-year-old actress, best known for playing Wendy Torrance in ‘The Shining’ and ‘Olive Oyl in Popeye,’ hasn’t appeared in a movie since 2002’s Manna From Heaven.

She plays the mother of Chicko Mendez’s character Rico in the film, which also stars Dee Wallace (ET) and Edward Furlong (Terminator 2: Judgment Day).

The trailer begins with a series of exterior shots of a small town, with Rico filming himself.

‘Hey, how are you? It’s Rico again. I’m up in the beautiful mountains of the Catskills in upstate New York,” Rico begins.

“I’m on a two-mile hike trying to get away from this boring, mundane, 9-to-5 job that we all hate,” he adds, while a shot shows a guitar strapped to his back.

Rico:

Meanwhile, Angela (Dee Wallace) yells, “Every damn time you do that, you make a goddamn mess. I’m done”, as we can see, she yells at Rico.

Another shot shows another female character telling Rico she could prescribe him a different drug, “one that might make you feel better.”

“I just don’t like how they make me feel,” Rico says, while another shot shows Rico deep in the woods telling a bunch of other characters, “I try to do my best, I do.”

Screams: Meanwhile, Angela (Dee Wallace) yells,

Rico is seen killing a woman with a rock while later receiving a call from Billy (Furlong) saying “Where are you? What’s up man?’

We get our first brief glimpse of Duvall simply saying, “You’re a fucking killer, Rico,” while Rico yells, “I’m fucking seeing things.”

Billy grabs Rico’s face and tells him, “You’re in deep shit right now, okay?” while a woman tells Rico that his stories “of hard work and courage are inspirational.”

Billy is seen with Rico in the middle of the woods, telling him to “focus on that, man,” while Billy later hints around the campfire that he’s “gonna blow that motherfucker right now.”

The trailer ends with a series of dramatic shots including Billy reading from a mystical book.
