On returning from Croatia, a woman was unpleasantly surprised to find 18 scorpions in her suitcase.
The Austrian immediately informed the local animal protection organization. According to OÖ Nachrichten, the arachnids were recovered relatively quickly and will be returned to their homeland of Croatia.
The baby scorpions found in the suitcase could have multiplied in Austria, but were “not wanted there,” said an employee of the animal protection association.
This organization often saves scorpions in Austria. A month earlier, on June 30, a woman also contacted his services to get rid of scorpions, which she also accidentally brought back from a trip to Croatia.
