A 49-year-old American woman is accused of killing and dismembering her parents with a chainsaw.
Verity Beck, who lives in Montgomery, Pennsylvania, is facing a double murder charge, prosecutors at NBC affiliate WJAC said.
Police arrived at Verity Beck’s parents’ home after a call from a family member who had not heard from the 72-year-old and 73-year-old couple in more than a week.
When officers entered Beck’s home, they found one of the victims wrapped in a white sheet along with evidence of another crime. Verity Beck was there.
Prosecutors said a chainsaw was found near the victims. The bodies of Verity Beck’s parents were in “various stages of dismemberment,” according to the WJAC.
Police also recovered several firearms from the home.
The two victims died from a bullet to the head, the coroner’s office said.
Verity Beck faces first- and third-degree murder charges and is not eligible for bail.
The authorities are continuing their investigations.
