Sharon Osbourne breaks social media silence after being rushed to hospital for a ‘medical emergency’

Sharon Osbourne has spoken on video for the first time since she was rushed to hospital due to a “medical emergency”.

The 70-year-old TV personality took to Instagram on Monday to share a video message announcing her return to her Tuesday night TalkTV show The Talk.

She confirmed she would be back on screens ahead of her chat show after falling ill on December 16 after being hospitalized while filming Night of Terror.

Sharon wished her viewers “healthy and happy holidays” and sent her love as she appeared to be in good spirits in the video.

She said: “Hello everyone at The Talk and everyone watching The Talk. I just want to let you know that I will be back on January 3rd.

“I missed you all very, very much and I know I keep saying I’ll be back, but this time it’s real!

“I just want to say to you all only the best, healthy, happy holidays and a happy new year. Love you all.’

In the clip, Sharon cut a casual figure in a blue check jacket with an embroidered collar and styled her tresses in her signature blush bob.

She accentuated her features with a smoky eye makeup palette as she stood in a spacious living room in her video message.

Sharon’s return to The Talk in the UK comes after she was hospitalized last month with a “medical emergency” after falling ill while filming the Night of Terror TV show with her son Jack.

Jack, 37, later released a statement on his Instagram confirming his mother was on the mend.

“OK, here’s what I’m going to say – first things first: MY MOTHER DID NOT SHOOT AN EPISODE OF @ghostadventures. She filmed a new episode of Night of Terror with me. Hahaha.’

“Now that we’ve got that straight… She had been given the all-clear by her medical team and is now at home.

“Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us with love and support. What happened to my mother – I’ll leave it to her to report when she’s ready.’

The day after, on December 20, Sharon shared her first statement since her December 16 hospitalization.

It was reported by TMZ that Sharon was busy filming a paranormal TV show in California near the Glen Tavern Inn in Santa Paula when she suddenly fell ill.

Doctors were called to the tavern around 6:30 p.m. for a “medical call,” a Ventura County Department official reportedly told the publication.

Sharon has never spoken out about major health concerns before.

She was last pictured on December 6 hanging out with son Jack, his fiancé Aree Gearhart and their daughter Maple in Los Angeles, where she was looking good.

In May 2022, Sharon revealed she caught Covid from her husband Ozzy after she was forced to fly back to Los Angeles to take care of him.

She broke down in tears after confirming she would be flying back to the United States from London to help her singer husband, 73.

On her talkTV show The Talk from LA, Sharon told her co-star Jeremy Kyle that Ozzy is fine, but sadly she and her daughter Kelly have been struck down by the virus.

She said: “He’s much better, thanks. His temperature is now back to normal, his coughing has stopped, he is much better.

‘But I have news to report. My daughter Kelly has it, I have it and the whole household has it now.’

Sharon was previously said to have been “beside himself with concern” after Ozzy contracted Covid-19.

It has been claimed Sharon was concerned for Ozzy as he became “paranoid” about contracting Covid after struggling with a string of health issues in recent years.

The former Black Sabbath star, who has Parkinson’s, is said to have been cleaning take-out supplies with antibacterial spray to prevent him catching Covid.

A source told The Mirror: “Ozzy has been severely paranoid about getting Covid because of everything he’s been through. Now he’s got it, he’s panicking and feeling terrible.

“He heard about the spread of Covid on surfaces and got so paranoid that he had all takeout deliveries that came in the house sprayed on the outside with antibacterial treatments.”
