Seth Rogen bombs CW at Critics Choice Awards: ‘We’re on your least favorite network’

Seth Rogen took the stage at the Critics Choice Awards to introduce the winner of Best Comedy Series. The comedian did have some notes for the ceremony organizers, however, and went on to crank up the CW, the network that aired the event.

Rogen said it was his first time at the Critics Choice Awards and asked if they “always give out two awards at once.” The actor was referring to the supporting actor/actress category and had an ax to grind with the network.

“That was strange,” he remarked. “Why do they do that? Are we pressed for time? Get an extra hour! It can’t be that expensive. Do you know how I know this? This show airs at 4 p.m. on the CW. That can’t be expensive…timeframes as far as I know how it all works.”

Rogen continued to toast the network, noting that they had no nominations at the event, adding, “I’m not saying the CW is bad. What I’m saying is it’s the only network that hasn’t received any Critics Choice nominations – they say it’s bad. We’re on your least popular network. How did this happen? Nominate yourself next time, you would have won. Nobody is going to think it’s weird, they’re going to think it’s okay.”

The Fabelmans star ended his tirade by saying: “If you’re a regular CW viewer, this is a chilling image to have on your TV right now. I might be the first Jew on the CW in history. Dive in.”
