See what 6 extinct animals would look like if they were alive

Life on earth is constantly changing. Before we were born or even thought to exist, creatures unimaginable by our current standards walked the soil of our planet and swam our oceans. In thousands of years, many of the species we know today will also no longer exist.

Some of the creatures of the past evolved into modern animals, while others disappeared millions of years ago. With this in mind, graphic designer and illustrator “Paleorex” decided to bring some of these creatures back to life through vivid 3D renderings, which turned out to be an absolutely stunning work! Just see what these animals would have looked like when they existed!

1. Oviraptor

Known as a small omnivorous predatory dinosaur, the Oviraptor had a habit of hatching its eggs in a manner very similar to that of modern birds. This species lived in East Asia at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 100 to 65 million years ago.

Its front legs were long and slender, with claws designed to tear the flesh of its prey. On the skull of this animal had a large and very peculiar cranial crest.

2. Synthetoceras

Synthetoceras was a relatively large and now extinct protoceratid. This creature was endemic to North America in the late Miocene and existed about 5 million years ago. This animal was very similar to today’s deer, but with a special detail: its peculiar decoration on the head.

As far as science knows, only males had antlers. This trait essentially served to attract mates and recognize species.

3. Velociraptor

One of the most recognizable and recognizable dinosaurs of all time, velociraptors were fierce hunters who relied on their deadly claws to pierce vital areas of their victims’ bodies — much like an eagle does today.

In fact, velociraptors shared many features found in modern birds, most notably in the anatomy of their legs.

4. Tapejara

Similar to the southern cassowary, the tapejara was a Cretaceous Brazilian pterosaur. Its crest was semicircular and was set above its snout and a bony tip that extended behind its head.

They were relatively small pterosaurs, with a wingspan of only 1.3 meters.

5. Carnotaurus

Carnotaurus was definitely one of the most bizarre carnivorous dinosaurs of the Cretaceous. With a short skull and two horns over its small eyes, this creature had a welldeveloped neck and shoulder blades but incredibly short arms.

For comparison: Not even the Tyrannosaurus Rex had such short arms. Although not very good at attacking large herbivorous dinosaurs, they were fast hunters and easily managed to hunt down smaller and agile prey.

6. Tyrannosaurus rex

Tyrannosaurus rex, whose name means “king of the tyrant lizards,” was one of the largest and deadliest predators to ever roam the earth. These huge animals had massive bodies, very sharp teeth and powerful jaws that would be able to crush the bones of any prey very easily.

No wonder the TRex became a major figure of its time since it basically came into the world to dominate nature. For a long time, this species conquered North America in the late Cretaceous period about 65 million years ago. If they weren’t extinct, it’s hard to imagine that any creature could challenge them today.
