Santamaria worries the Peru team over his knee injury Atlas

Do you miss the friendlies in March? Anderson Santamaría was injured on the last day of MX League against Tigres. The Atlas DT was very confused.

Anderson Santamaria was present at the Liga MX match between Atlas and Tigres. The Red and Blacks fell by the slightest margin at home and the Peruvian defender started as a regular but was unable to complete the 90 minutes after being forced off the field with a knee injury. His physical condition is a concern for the Mexico team, particularly their coach Benjamín Mora, who will need to find a replacement for him in the starting XI.

After the game against the cat team, the Mexican strategist was asked about the Peru defender. However, Mora didn’t know how to reveal details about how Santamaría was doing or how long he would be gone.

“The Anderson thing… he has a knee situation that needs to be looked into more closely: we’re going to do the studies on him. Today I have neither a diagnosis nor a clear situation,” commented the Atlas DT.

This adds Anderson Santamaría to the list of players absent through injury, including Edison Flores.

Atlas’ medical report is expected to be released in the next few hours to find out the extent of the Peruvian defender’s injury. If it were a serious condition, it would rule out a possible appeal for the Peru team.

Next game of the Peruvian team

The national team will play their next game next March. Juan Reynoso’s team will play two friendlies: Germany and Morocco.
