Just before 11 p.m., two patrol officers from the Saguenay Police Department (SPS) noticed the peculiar behavior of the person who was traveling in the opposite direction.

The latter was intercepted at rue Saint-Louis in Jonquière. The officials immediately found that he was showing symptoms of impaired performance. Taken back to the police station, he “blew” more than twice the legal alcohol limit in his blood.

“The special thing about this story is that there were two small children on board the vehicle,” explains Lieutenant Stéphane Pellerin of the SPS.

His driver’s license had already been revoked and his car was not registered.

The driver was arrested as a result, his license was subsequently revoked and his car was confiscated for a period of 30 days.

The authorities also took care of the man’s children. A report was sent to the youth welfare office (DPJ).
