Russia prevents attack on oil pipeline in Volgograd region

Ukrainian forces launched attacks on the town of Energodar, home to the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, on Monday.The local authorities informed the press.

“For more than an hour, terrorists from the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been firing artillery shells massively. Explosions were recorded in Energodar, near the Zaporozhie nuclear power plant, in residential areas of the city and in the industrial zone“, Said.

The local military-civic administration condemned that “from the opposite bank of the Dnepr river, fire was again opened on the civilian population and civilian infrastructure of the city of Energodar”.

Currently, the city’s emergency services are gathering information on casualties and damage to civilian infrastructure.

In parallel, Vladimir Rogov, a member of the Main Council of the provincial military-civic administration, wrote this in his Telegram account in the last two hours, around 25 heavy artillery attacks were carried out on the factory premises and residential areas.

Recently, the Zaporozhye plant has repeatedly been the target of attacks by the Ukrainian military.

The Russian Foreign Ministry warned that the bombings carried out by Ukrainian forces against the power plant constitute “an act of nuclear terrorism” and could cause a catastrophe worse than the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant.

On Monday, Ukraine’s Zaporozhye province proposed a ceasefire regime near the nuclear power plant in the face of the Kyiv attacks.
