Venus D’Lite, a drag queen who competed in RuPaul’s Drag Race season 3 in 2011, made a shocking statement on Instagram, which is now closed saying that she was raped by another reality contestant in 2013.
“In 2013 I was raped by one of the men [drags] Favorites from RuPaul’s Drag Race. The association with the show has brought me a lot of trauma to deal with and I sought professional help as this trauma was affecting my heart, art and mind.
“Sometimes society is strange. They are praising and worshiping a pig while crucifying a holy man,” she summarized. The star took the opportunity to mention that she had heard reports of other sexual abuse behind the scenes of the production, which is currently in its 14th season.
“I’m saddened to hear stories told to me by local drag queens of how they’ve had similar experiences with certain RuGirls visiting their towns after I posted my own story.” “There are reasons certain girls don’t want to work with certain girls.”
