Rosie O’Donnell shadows Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s ‘strange’ return to ‘The View’

Rosie O’Donnell called Elisabeth Hasselbeck’s return to The View “strange” and implied the conservative personality was the reason she stopped watching the show.

“I saw it,” the 60-year-old comedian said in a TikTok video Thursday, referring to Hasselbeck’s appearance on the ABC talk show a day earlier.

“It occurred to me why I don’t want to see it with her anymore. Her little sticky notes, I don’t know,” she added.

O’Donnell was referring to the Fox & Friends grad’s decision to criticize President Biden during a Post-It note segment.

“Americans can’t afford your America,” read the first, followed by “Gas prices are hurting us.”

The “Survivor” alum followed those notes with another, reading, “Recession is real” and “Though I didn’t vote for you, you have my prayers.”

O’Donnell called Hasselbeck’s move “strange” and concluded, “Yes. Um, I hope you’re having a good day. And if you saw that yesterday, hope you recovered.”

The actress worked alongside Hasselbeck on The View from 2006-07 and left the show after an infamous fight.

Hasselbeck dropped out in 2013 — and she had choice words for O’Donnell when the “SMILF” graduate returned in her absence the following year.

“What could ruin a vacation more than hearing news like this?” Hasselbeck said in a 2014 Fox & Friends appearance.

“Talk about not securing the border,” she said at the time. “Here comes ‘The View,’ the very woman who spits in the face of our military, spits in the face of her own network, and really in the face of a person who stood by her and engaged in civilized debates for the time she was there .”

When O’Donnell spoke to Variety five years later about previously having “a little crush on Hasselbeck,” the former “Look for Less” host called her comments “disturbing” and said she “started immediately” about it to pray.

“[Hasselbeck] was so scared of the concept of a lesbian crush on her that she had to go straight to Jesus, not walk by, not have to collect $200,” O’Donnell joked in a March 2019 Instagram Live. “She was always calling Jesus back to.

“Yes, Jesus wanted to save her from the gay guy who thought she was cute!”
