When the three-time Daytime Emmy winner passed away at her home in New York earlier this month at the age of 93, Rosie shared a touching TikTok of her memory.

“Very sad to hear of the passing of Barbara Walters. Although, 93, man. Who wouldn’t take that? What a long and eventful and legendary life she’s had,” O’Donnell – who has 3.7million social media followers – said on Friday night.

“I’ve spoken to every prominent leader in the world I’ve ever met. I have interviewed everyone who was anyone and I have been fortunate to be in their orbit for many years. And we’ve seen a lot of Broadway shows together. And whenever we went backstage, I’d like to try and help her with the steps backstage.

“And she used to slap me on the hand and tell me to leave her alone [laughs]. She knew what she was doing, I can tell you that. May she rest in peace and may everyone remember the barriers she broke down for women. She really did. She was the first and will always be remembered.’

The 12-time Emmy winner was a presenter on The View from September 2006 to May 2007, where she made headlines and garnered ratings largely for her political debates with outspoken Republican Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
