Behold, R. Patz at the Paris Fashion Week Fall-Winter 2023-2024 by Dior. The outfit is from the collection and Robert is a ‘global ambassador’ for the brand. Does this context help? I have no idea.
Well, this look is rich text. Let me start: We’ll start with the fluffy jacket and zip-up turtleneck combo. Some might say Rob Pattinson in a tan zip conjures up images of this meme standing in a kitchen in a tracksuit. Not me! This look is way too sophisticated!
Next we have the tweed skirt – complete with a touch of shin for maximum swishness in a Victorian style. I am an absolute fan of skirts in menswear. That’s why I’m such a little bitch to Thom Browne, even if it sometimes reminds me of the days when I had to wear an ugly kilt to school until I was 16.
We finish with black rubber boots and knee socks. Finally a look to wear front row to fashion week and wade in shallow ponds.
What I’m getting at is that I don’t find the individual parts of this look bad – quite the opposite. But all together? It’s…powerful, I’ll give you that.
Of course he’s Robert Pattinson and could look good in a garbage bag taped together. I would be remiss not to include some of the more artistic shots from the show. The man did read poetry at least part of it!
The blur here makes his skin look gorgeous, a bit like…no, I won’t say.
He also posed with other famous people. According to WWD, either Eddie Redmayne or Robert joked that the skirt was “equipped with a little extra ventilation.” I can’t tell if it was Eddie or Robert who made the joke because either the phrasing is wrong or I’m an idiot (the latter is more likely).
But what do I know about fashion? I’m writing this in sweatpants and an Edward Cullen t-shirt (wish I was kidding).
