American woman who asked Robert Irwin for his phone number reveals what happened after her brave pickup attempt on TikTok went viral
A video of American tourist Megan Grass asking Robert Irwin for his phone number during a visit to Australia Zoo went viral on TikTok earlier this week.
Now the young tourist has opened up about her brave pickup attempt, admitting on the Today Show that she still hasn’t had a date with the Crocodile Wrangler.
Megan told hosts Karl Stefanovic and Brooke Boney Thursday that 18-year-old Robert has still not been in contact with her since her video made headlines.

“Not much has happened other than exploding on TikTok,” she said.
When asked why she wanted Robert’s number, Megan said, “I think he’s literally the sweetest person ever. He’s a great guy.
‘I would like to be just Robert’s friend.’

The viral video showed Robert approaching a crowd at Australia Zoo before Megan, from Utah, asked him for his number.
“I think you’re so cool and I was wondering if I can have your number?” She said.
“Well, I’m very flattered,” he replied before asking Megan where she was from.
He added: “The easiest way [to contact me] is on Instagram because then my people can monitor it and see when it’s coming through because my number is being shuffled.
Megan told Robert she had already DMed him on Instagram but he didn’t reply.
“Well I actually DMed you last night to tell you I’m coming over here today,” she said.

‘What’s your name? I’ll check it out!’ Robert answered.
Coincidentally, Robert’s older sister, Bindi, met her husband when he was a tourist visiting Australia Zoo nine years ago.
Chandler Powell was visiting from Florida in 2013 when he caught the eye of Bindi while touring the Sunshine Coast Wildlife Sanctuary. Today they are married and have a daughter.
