Rita Ora found the rumors that she and Taika Waititi were in a throuple with Tessa Thompson “ridiculous.”
The “For You” singer reflected on the viral photos in a new interview with Britain’s GQ, explaining that she chose to “ignore” the headlines so they would go away.
“I think when some things are so absurd and it’s hard to make sense of them, you just have to ignore them,” she said. “I’ve taken this approach to a lot of things because you don’t want to put energy into something that doesn’t exist.
“It’s like trying to explain something that didn’t happen means you don’t flow into anything,” added Ora, 32.
The ‘Twist’ actress likened the booze-filled moment that took place on a Sydney balcony to a drunk night where everyone becomes ‘best friends’.
“And then the next day you’re like, ‘I’ve been talking to this person in the smoking area for four hours and I have no idea who they are?’ Literally – that [photo] was just a bunch of friends enjoying themselves,” she explained.

Despite the excitement surrounding the photos, Ora found solace in the fact that her LGBTQIA+ followers praised her for normalizing same-sex epidurals.
“However, the good news is that when I spoke to my fans on Twitter, all of my incredible LGBTQIA+ fandom was like that, actually — whether that’s true or not — I’m so inspired that this is going to be publicly normalized,” she shared .

In some of the pictures, which leaked online in May 2021, Ora planted a few kisses with then-boyfriend Waititi. (They are reportedly now married.).

In another picture, she sat with Thompson, 39, touching noses while the “Creed” star rested her legs on Ora’s lap. The Jojo Rabbit director, 47, was also seen wrapping his arms around Thompson’s leg while the actress held his arm.
A few months later, Waititi dismissed the pictures as “not a big deal.”
“I think things move pretty fast in the world of the internet,” the director of Thor: Love and Thunder told the Sydney Morning Herald.
“And also ‘Is that such a big deal?’ No not true. I did nothing wrong. It’s good.”
