Rita Dalla Chiesa appreciated the tribute of Rai a Carlo Alberto Dalla Chiesa in the fiction “Our General”. A series in four episodes that clearly narrates the career of the General of the Carabinieri, then Prefect of Palermo. But in the series there is one protagonist, “Nicola”, played by Antonio Folletto. Indeed, the character of Antonio, a carabiniere closely associated with Dalla Chiesa, follows him everywhere.
He is his loyal ally both in the fight against the Red Brigades and in the fight against the Mafia. And so Nicola finds himself in Palermo on the very night the General is assassinated. In the final scene of the fiction, Nicola appears on board the helicopter that will take him to prison, accompanied by Totò Riina. Many saw Captain Ultimo in this character. And this fact was somehow confirmed by Rita Dalle Chiesa.
“Nicholas In the series he would be Captain Ultimo, but in reality he never worked with your father. Did you want to fictionalize that part? Sorry for the inappropriate name.” Dalla Chiesa’s reply was not long in coming: “I thought about it too. It was he who arrested Totò Riina. It’s true they never worked together, but it’s like he’s still one of their men today.”
