Rihanna SHOOTS BACK at trolls who slammed her for calling baby son ‘so good’

Rihanna fired back at trolls after they slammed her for calling her baby son “so good” while sharing photos from her British Vogue shoot on Instagram this week.

Some found the description more apt for a “grown man” than a nine-month-old, with one fan asking, “Who calls a baby good?”

To which the Umbrella singer replied, “His mom!!!” according to Us Weekly.

She jokingly added in a follow-up comment, “Just keep your little cougar paws off him and we’re good!”

The 34-year-old hitmaker shares her baby boy with partner A$AP Rocky and announced during their Super Bowl halftime show that they are expecting their second child.

The parents have yet to reveal the name of their firstborn to the public.

The happy trio can be seen on the cover of British Vogue’s March 2023 issue, where Rihanna opened up about her relationship with the 34-year-old rapper and how their son changed their world.

Rihanna has called Rocky her “best friend” and described motherhood as “everything” as she admitted she can’t remember what her life was like before she had her son in May 2022.

“It’s all, you really don’t remember life before that, that’s the craziest thing ever,” she told the magazine.

Rihanna said her first few months as a mother were a rollercoaster ride, describing the birth as a “head fuck.” She said she couldn’t believe she walked into the hospital pregnant and left with a baby.

Rihanna admitted that having a child also made her reevaluate when she called raising her son one of the “scariest” tasks of her life.

She said: “Raising a young black boy is one of the scariest jobs in life […] “You think, ‘What am I leaving to my kids? This is the planet they will live on?’

Despite the challenges of motherhood, Rihanna insisted it’s only brought her and partner Rocky closer, saying they’re “best friends with a baby.”

“Everything changes when you have a baby, but I wouldn’t say it just brought us closer,” she added.

While promoting the cover story, Rihanna revealed that she had no idea she was already pregnant with her second child during the magazine shoot.

“How crazy both my babies were in these photos and Mom had no idea,” she shared on Instagram on Wednesday.

Rihanna announced the big pregnancy last Sunday during her epic Super Bowl halftime show, which was the second most-watched halftime show in history after Katy Perry’s performance in 2015.

Rihanna took extreme measures to keep her pregnancy a secret, including keeping the messages from her 280 backup dancers secret.

“I don’t think anyone really knew she was pregnant,” dancer Laila Hayes told ET. ‘She hid it very well.’

Rihanna only began rehearsing with the dancers during the week of the show, and she was deliberately kept at a distance from them.

The Grammy-winning actress welcomed her first child, a son, with rapper A$AP Rocky in May, just nine months before she would appear on the world’s biggest stage. The baby’s name is not yet known.

‘[Rihanna] “When I was rehearsing on stage, they made sure she was standing securely in the middle of the stage, and then the group I was in stayed on the sidelines,” Hayes recalled.

The dancers had been through weeks of rehearsals after being chosen for the one-off performance in early January.

Choreographer Parris Goebel often filled in for Rihanna as they worked through the routines as a group. Rihanna spent a lot of time practicing on her own.

During her Super Bowl performance, Rihanna strutted around in an oversized red jacket over a baggy jumpsuit, which she later undid to reveal her growing bump.

A rep for the singer confirmed the news shortly after the show.

Hayes admitted she was completely surprised that Rihanna kept her jacket closed during rehearsal.

“We were all confused when we saw it in real life as she went up there and showed her stomach,” she explained. “She wore the same outfit for one of the dress rehearsals, but it had a zipper.”

But Luhnyae Campbell, Hayes’ co-interviewee, insists that she “never saw a bump” on stage and in fact “had to re-watch the performance on YouTube to spot it.”

While there was a big secret to protect, that didn’t stop Rihanna from showing her gratitude to all those involved in bringing her vision to life.

Just before they took the field, Hayes said that Rihanna “thanked all the dancers, the production company and the directors.”

Campbell added, “She was such a light. You could see in her face how much she really enjoyed the staging and the performance of all the dancers.’

TMZ Originally, no one involved in the production reported that she was pregnant and that she had purposely worn baggy clothing during rehearsals.

The Umbrella hitmaker also wore loose-fitting outfits during the final rehearsals on Saturday and Sunday and kept her final costume under wraps until the start of the show.

Though the star kept her pregnancy news a secret until her onstage reveal, she did drop a few hints ahead of the show.

Speaking to CBS Sports about bringing any special guests, the singer said she was, “Thinking about bringing someone” – but added, “I’m not sure, we’ll see.”

In a chat with Apple Music, she said: “When you become a mother, there’s just something that happens that makes you feel like you can take on the world. You can do everything.’

“The Super Bowl is one of the biggest stages in the world, as scary as [it is] because I haven’t been on stage for seven years, there’s something exhilarating about this challenge.

“And it’s important for me to do that this year. It is important for representation. It’s important that my son sees that.”

The Diamonds hitmaker apparently turned down multiple opportunities to perform at the Super Bowl before finally taking the stage this year.

In 2018, it was reported that she turned down the show out of solidarity with Colin Kaepernick and because she disagreed with the way the national anthem was handled on her knees.
