The 34-year-old released the single to great fanfare last week, marking her first solo release after a six-year hiatus following her album Anti.

In the new making-of pictures she shared on Instagram, the songbird was seen posing with the video’s director, Autumn Durald Arkapaw.

Lift Me Up was written for the new film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, on which Autumn worked as a cinematographer.

Rihanna’s behind-the-scenes pictures showed her and Autumn grinning together in front of the beach bonfire featured in the video.

Another clip of the footage showed her gazing intently at an iPad on set, presumably watching the rushes.

The music video consisted primarily of Rihanna strolling the beach at sunset, showing off a billowing, plunging white dress that bared her cleavage.

Clips from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever have been interspersed with the global pop star’s new footage Autumn Shot.

Although Rihanna was featured on PartyNextDoor’s track Believe It in 2020, Lift Me Up is the first song she has released since Anti solo.

In the meantime, she has thrown herself into other ventures, such as her vibrant and successful fashion and beauty company, Fenty.

When the new song was released, her fans erupted online, with one gushed that “tears immediately came to my eyes.”

Lift Me Up pays homage to the late Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020 aged just 43 after a secret battle with colon cancer.

Rather than recast his role, the sequel continued with three characters played by Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, and Letitia Wright front and center.

Directed by Ryan Coogler, who also directed the first film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is slated for release next Friday.

Ryan also co-wrote Lift Me Up with film composer Ludwig Göransson, Nigerian singer Tems and Rihanna himself.

Rihanna released two alternative covers for Lift Me Up on Thursday, both of which use images of her at the beach in her music video costume.

As with the original cover art, the song title and Rihanna’s name are both written in English and in the Wakanda script, which was formulated by Black Panther production designer Hannah Beachler during filming of the original film.
