Retourcarriage: Zelenskyy wants to give Berlusconi vodka as a gift

Ukrainian President Zelensky wants to give former Italian Prime Minister Berlusconi vodka from his country. “I don’t know Berlusconi personally. But maybe we should send him something. Does he like vodka? We have very good quality vodka in Ukraine,” Zelensky said in an interview with Milan daily Corriere della Sera.

The Ukrainian president was referring to recordings in which Berlusconi claimed last October to have received 20 bottles of vodka from Russian President Putin on his birthday. Berlusconi, head of the ruling Forza Italia party, has been a good friend of Putin for years.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni plans to travel to Kiev in the coming days. According to the media, she could arrive in Kiev as early as Monday afternoon. Meloni, 46, who has been in office since October, announced that she would visit Ukraine ahead of the Feb. 24 anniversary of the start of the war.

“I had very good talks with Meloni. We received a support package from Italy and I am very grateful for her position. I am waiting for her, I know she will come,” said Zelensky.
