Reggie Bird reveals Big Brother Australia’s shocking confession after winning the reality TV show for a second time

Reggie Bird has admitted that winning Big Brother a second time wasn’t that exciting.

Speaking to the Herald Sun, the 41-year-old mother of two admitted: “It was weird this time, very different from the last time I won.”

“Reality TV was absolutely massive back then and everything was new back then and we didn’t have social (media) and stuff. This time I wasn’t chased off the road like in 2003.”

“I had two bodyguards with me for a few weeks because I had nowhere to go,” she recalls.

“Nowadays, I can still jump on the bus to do my shopping without worrying. People move on so fast.

The Brisbane reality star made history when she was crowned the winner of Big Brother Australia for a second time in July.

Despite bagging a whopping $1 million cash prize almost two decades ago, Reggie told Chron Australia that her $250,000 win couldn’t have come at a better time.

“I’ve had a lot of health issues over the years,” she revealed.

“It’s hard to get a full-time job when you have a sick child and you’re separated.

“I would like to get a job now. I definitely need a job to pay the rent. I don’t know what I’m going to do, but I’ll find something.”

“It was a struggle [finding a full time job]. I used to work in a call center selling raffle tickets for the prize pony. They were really good when I had to take time off,” she said.

“It’s also difficult to find employers who accept you for who you are and hire you. You know, just being there and having a sick kid and taking time off work.
