Ronaldo received the armband as he led his team-mates from Riyadh’s top clubs to victory against old rivals Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and others.

Ronaldo has yet to play for Al-Nassr since signing a ¬£175million-a-season deal to complete his time at the pinnacle of European football. His competitive debut is due this weekend after serving a suspension he was denied the time at Manchester United, making today also the first appearance for the five-time Ballon d’Or winner since Portugal’s surprise World Cup elimination -Quarterfinals takes place.
