Prince William feels ‘abandoned’ by Harry – brothers ‘didn’t have any private time’ at anniversary | Royal | news

The 40-year-old Duke of Cambridge reportedly did not spend any private time with the 37-year-old Duke of Sussex when he returned to the UK for the Platinum Jubilee Bank Holiday weekend. They were both present at the televised Thanksgiving service at St. Paul’s Cathedral.

The Cambridges were reportedly invited to Lilibet Diana’s first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage on Saturday 4 June but were in Cardiff for an anniversary gig.

However, they wished a happy birthday on Twitter.

The @KensingtonRoyal page wrote: “Happy Birthday Lilibet who turns one today!”

Harry and Meghan reportedly left the UK before the anniversary celebrations – their first outing together at a major royal event in two years – came to an end.

They stepped down as senior working royals in 2020 and have now settled in Montecito, California.

The Sussexes made a series of explosive allegations about the company in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.

The high-profile interview sent shockwaves across the Atlantic, prompting a statement from Buckingham Palace saying problems within the royal family are being addressed “privately”.

Harry returned alone to the UK in June 2021 to unveil a statue of Princess Diana with William in Kensington Palace’s Sunken Garden to celebrate the 60th birthday of the Princess of Wales.

Various sources have stated that William and Harry have spoken since then.

However, a friend of William’s spoke about the rift with the Sunday Times.

They said: “He’s still deeply upset about it and feels let down, but he’s moved on.”

Kensington Palace declined to comment.

On Saturday, The Sun newspaper surfaced a report claiming that Harry and Meghan had a brief and “formal” meeting with the Queen, 96, on their return to the UK.

It suggested the Sussexes spent 15 minutes with the monarch.

A source told the newspaper: “It was a quick in and out. It was all quite formal.”

Buckingham Palace declined to comment on the reported meeting.
