President of Brazil condemns the blockade imposed by the USA on Cuba

Buenos Aires, 23 de (Prensa Latina) Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva today reiterated his condemnation of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba following the signing of various agreements in Argentina.

“I hope that this island can soon return to a normal process and that the siege that has lasted more than 60 years will be unnecessarily ended,” said the President along with his local counterpart, Alberto Fernández, on the eve of the celebrations Here the Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac).

“Because the Cubans don’t want to create the Brazilian model, they don’t want to copy the United States model, they want to make their own model,” the head of state said in response to a question from the press.

Who has anything to do with this, Lula asked at that nation’s government building.

That is why Brazil and the CELAC states must treat Venezuela and Cuba with great affection, stressed the leader of the Workers’ Party.

We will help them what we can to solve their problems, he noted. I am convinced that Celac will be something important for the region, he added.

He previously described this space as exceptional for people to discuss, learn and teach, “for others to enjoy our good things and resolve conflicts.”

It is the first forum between Latin American and Caribbean nations excluding the United States and Canada, he recalled.

Lula was proud to have helped build this forum and beyond because Cubans are participating.
