After the news of the special Netflix 30 years Power Ranger almost bringing the original cast, many fans questioned the absence Amy JoJohnsonwho plays Kimberly Hart/pink power ranger. On her Twitter, the actress herself justified the reason for not appearing in the production:
“For the record, I never said no … I just didn’t say yes to what was offered. But other fun things are in the pipeline! I can’t wait to see my friends rock it!”; said Amy.
Justified Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Alwaysthe special will star David Jost (Billy the Blue Ranger) Walter Emmanuel Jones (Zack the Black Ranger) and Catherine Sutherland (Kat, the second pink ranger), as well as Steve Cardenas, Karan Ashley and Johnny YongBosch. Barbara Gutsonthe voice of Rita Repulsa will also return.
The new adventure will see the rangers “confronted with a threat from the past”. The synopsis continues: “In the midst of a global crisis, you are called upon to once again be the heroes the world needs. Inspired by the legendary mantra ‘once a ranger, always a ranger’, Once & Always reminds everyone that when you become a ranger, you’re always a part of the family”.
It remains to be seen if the special will have a tribute Jason David Frankthe green ranger who died in November at the age of 49.
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once and Always Premiered on Netflix April 19.
