Netflix has reportedly spent a staggering sum on a new, much-hyped film starring Bridgerton’s Phoebe Dynevor.
Deadline reports that Netflix is paying around $20 million for the rights to stream Fair Play worldwide. Directed by Chloe Domont, the film just premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews.

Dynevor stars alongside Alden Ehrenreich and Eddie Marsan from Solo: A Star Wars Story. The official synopsis reads, “A successful New York couple, Emily (Dynevor) and Luke (Ehrenreich), can’t get enough of each other.
“When a coveted promotion looms at a cutthroat financial firm, the supportive exchange between the lovers begins to morph into something more sinister. As the force dynamic in their relationship irreversibly shifts, Luke and Emily must confront the true cost of success and the unnerving limits of ambition.”
Fair Play also drew attention for a surprising sex scene between Ehrenreich and Dynevor’s characters. As detailed in Variety, the scene revolves around the couple attending a wedding where they sneak into the bathroom for some “alone time”. Only her rampage with Dynevor’s character ends with a blood-stained dress.
Of the scene, she told the publication, “I loved it. [When I read the script], I was like, ‘Hallelujah’. I had never seen a scene like that in a movie. It happens. I don’t want to spoil too much but it was fun bringing it to life.
“We had a week of rehearsals before going on set.
Bridgeton Seasons 1-2 are now streaming on Netflix. Season 3 is in production. Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is scheduled to premiere in 2023.
