Peruvian skater Deyvid Tuesta won a gold medal at the

This Sunday morning the skater David Tuest won the gold medal at the XII South American Games Asuncion 2022, to be held in Paraguay until October 15. The 20-year-old Peruvian scored 355 points in the men’s street modality, skateboarding.

From sixth place to gold medal

In the first skateboard round of the XII. South American Games Asuncion 2022which began yesterday, October 1st, the Peruvians took part David Tuest (20 years) and Angelo Caro (23 years). In this round, Caro was in first place with 301.32 points, ahead of Brazilian Joao Lucas Alves (290.98 points) and Colombian Jhan Carlos González (288.99). Deivid Tuesta also finished sixth with 278.99 points despite qualifying for the final.

So Caro was the favorite for the gold medal, but surprisingly David Tuest he took the gold medal with 355.31 points, 30 points above second place held by Colombia’s Jhan Carlos González with 324.65 points. Unfortunately, Ángelo Caro was sixth with 292.66 points.

There are more than 400 Peruvian athletes participating XII. South American Games Asuncion 2022. Athletes will compete in 46 of the 53 sports that will be held at the event.

The games opened on Saturday October 1st with the parade of protocol and the dances of the 15 delegations that took part in the sporting event. The flag-bearers and parade leaders of the Peruvian delegation were the karate athletes Alexandra Grande and the skater Ángelo Caro.
