On November 26, during a search of the prison, inspectors from the State Secretariat for Criminal Investigation (SEAP) found a mobile phone and charger on Patrick Abrahão’s property.

A few days earlier, the prisoner even published an open letter he had written in prison, in which he protested his innocence.

Patrick Abrahão, 24, was arrested by the Federal Police (PF), the Federal Treasury and the National Mining Authority as part of Operation La Casa de Papel on suspicion of involvement in a transnational financial pyramid scheme.

THE The operation seized around BRL 5 million in luxury cars, BRL 1.3 million in crypto assets and BRL 75,000 in cash. According to investigations, Patrick’s network harmed at least 1.3 million people in 80 countries, causing them BRL 4.1 billion in damage.

Patrick is being investigated for crimes against the national financial system, currency evasion, ideological falsehoods, money laundering, usurpation of public property, environmental crime and embezzlement.
